Our fabrics
- Polyester can feel surprisingly similar to silk due to modern textile engineering, allowing today's designed to imitate silk’s physical structure and surface behavior.
- Natural silk is made of extremely fine, smooth filaments. Manufacturers can now spin polyester into microfibres that are almost as thin. When fibres are that fine, fabric feels lighter, softer, and more fluid, all the key traits people associate with silk.
- It’s not just the fibre, it’s how it’s woven. Satin weaves (long floating yarns on the surface) are commonly used for both silk and polyester. This weave reflects light smoothly, feels cool and soft and produces that classic “silky” drape.
- Silk’s luxurious look comes from how its triangular fibre structure reflects light. Polyester can be engineered with similar cross-sections, allowing it to reflect light in a comparable way, giving it that glossy, elegant sheen.
- Advanced polyester fabrics are designed to fall and move like silk. By adjusting fibre thickness, yarn twist, and weave density, polyester can flow rather than feel stiff or plastic-like.
Common benefits
- Real silk usually needs hand-washing, gentle detergents, and careful drying. Our fabrics can be machine washed, thrown in with the other laundry items and dries much quicker.
- While silk is extremely soft, it is incredibly delicate with a much easier propensity to snag, weaken with sweat, deodorant and friction.
- Our fabrics are designed to better resist pulling, keep its shape, shine longer and maintain durability over time.
- Cost without fear. Modern polyester is not “cheap polyester”. Silk pyjamas are often expensive, which can create hesitation and fear of damage or stain. We provide the opportunity to enjoy multiple sets, the silk feel and luxury, while relaxing without the worry.
- Consistency, night after night. While silk changes over time, becoming thinner and can stiffen if not washed appropriately, we provide stable texture.
- Many people prefer our fabrics over silk as they provide warmth for those that get cold at night, do not have ethical animal-derived concerns and is hypoallergenic.
